ABOUT VERLETTE
Take a little bit of Gladys Knight, and a drop of Mavis Staples, throw in some James Taylor, a little Indigo Girls and a pinch of Jackson Brown, and you'll come out with the acoustic soul fusion of Verlette Simon. A regular on the Washington DC music scene's singer/songwriter circuit, Verlette has gained notoriety for her stellar vocal ability, and warm engaging performances. She currently performs with guitarist Mark Sylvester and a variety of other musicians who lend their talents when she performs with her full band. In 2003, Verlette released the CD, "Elements" with former partner Michael Willis on Twisted Folk Records, and is currently working on her new CD tentatively entitled "From Every Angle".

Verlette is the founder and director of Ubervox, a women's music networking, education organization and concert series based in the Washington DC area. Verlette is also a member of The Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), and The Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW).
